Verso la costruzione di una Rete Mediterranea degli Abitanti

Questo incontro, organizzato dalla IAI a Africities il 23/11/2018, mira a istituire una rete internazionale di organizzazioni di abitanti dei paesi che si affacciano sul Mar Mediterraneo, residenti e migranti, in collaborazione con le autorità locali che condividono un approccio basato sui diritti umani nella realizzazione di politiche abitative, nella pianificazione urbana e nelle politiche di governo democratico.

Sgomberi e cittadinanza a Casablanca

L’ultima settimana di settembre un’ondata di sgomberi si è abbattuta sul quartiere industriale di Ain Sbaa, periferia nord di Casablanca, Marocco. Un’enorme spiegamento di polizia ha sgomberato oltre 1.300 case autocostruite nel quartiere di Douar Wasti , insediato nella zona sin dagli anni trenta. I circa 5.000 abitanti da sei mesi negoziavano con le autorità locali, ma non si aspettavano certo di essere buttati in strada in massa, con i cecchini che li puntavano dai palazzi intorno, e senza alcuna compensazione tranne la promessa di ottenere, un giorno, una parcella di terreno a 30 km di distanza, nell’area rurale di Hay Hajjaj .

Desalojos en Casablanca: solidaridad y propuestas de la RMLD

La Red Marroquí para la Vivienda Digna (RMLD) en Casablanca/Settat denuncia las violaciones de los derechos humanos reconocidos por parte de Marruecos, que se encuentran en los desalojos de los habitantes de Casablanca como parte del programa “ciudades sin tugurios”. Una tragedia anteriormente sufrida por cientos de miles de habitantes de otras ciudades y países vecinos del Mediterráneo. La Alianza Internacional de los Habitantes ha compartido solidaridad y propuestas para solucionar el problema.

Douar Wasti, Casablanca: demolizioni e sfratti massicci

Vista dall'alto delle macerie del quartiere Douar Wasti, demolito in un fine settimana dal governo marocchino Venerdì 21 Settembre, 2018, un contingente di circa 2,000 poliziotti, militari e altre forze dell'ordine hanno fatto irruzione nel quartiere di Douar Wasti di Casablanca, al centro dell'area industriale litoranea di Ain Sbaa. Nel giro di poche ore, l'intero quartiere è stato sgomberato. Oltre 1300 abitazioni sono state demolite dalle ruspe, e gli abitanti, oltre cinquemila, con un grandissimo numero di bambini, costretti a recuperare i propri oggetti in poco tempo e ad ammassarli sull'asfalto.

Kenya: Stop forced evictions from Nairobi’s Kibera settlement, say UN rights experts

GENEVA (26 July 2018) – UN human rights experts* have condemned the massive eviction of residents of the Kibera informal settlement in southwest Nairobi, and are urging the Kenyan authorities to halt all mass evictions until adequate legal and procedural safeguards are in place.

Nairobi, Kibera-Langata Roads Project

The beginning of the road For over 60 years there have been plans to build the Kibera-Langata link road. In 2016, the final go-ahead was given by government. In the meantime the plans for the road have changed over three times. No matter which plan is instated, the road will cut through Kibera, dividing it in two. In response, members of the community have led the resistance agaisnt the project. Yet, the resistance movements are highly divided, making it hard to createa a single voice for the community.

Extra Judicial Killings in Nairobi and Community Based Response

Nairobi has been faced with systemic police violence throughout its colonial and post-colonial history. This article was written after Insitut Français de Recherche en Afrique (IFRA) Center for Human Rights and Policy Studies (CHRIPS) and Mathare Social Justice Center (MSJC) hosted a seminar on the topic. The article focuses on the case of Nairobi and demonstrates how urban planning and police violence go hand in hand. It then continues to discuss how communities have reacted and their methods used to try and alter the way police operate in their communities.

Mali, Accaparement de la forêt du Mandé à Kita. Plus d’une centaine de villages menacés de disparition

Dans le cadre d’une mission de soutien, d’information et de sensibilisation, auprès de ces membres l’Union des Associations et des Coordinations d’Associations pour le Développement et la Défense des Droits des Démunies (UACDDDD) a dépêché du 22 au 24 février dernier une délégation dans 4 villages des 03 Communes du cercle de Kita se trouvant dans la forêt qui l’objet d’une convoitise énorme. Aujourd’hui, ils sont plus d’une centaine de villages qui sont menacés de disparition dans les communes de Gadougou 1, Gadougou 2 et Koulou. Toute chose qui interpelle fortement Mme le ministre de l’Environnement, de l’Assainissement et du Développement Durable, Keïta Aïda M’BO.

RMLD, Déclaration de Marrakech

Le Réseau Marocain Pour Le Logement décent membre de la Coalition marocaine pour la justice climatique, après une forte participation aux différentes activités dans les espaces alloués à la société civile au congrès de la cop 22 qui a eu lieu entre le 7 et le 18 Novembre 2016 à Marrakech, confirme son attachement aux principes de la justice climatique et de continuer à les défendre sans régression, et de jouer un rôle de premier plan au sein des organisations de la société civile à l'échelle internationale, régionale et locale, et se concentrer sur la sensibilisation de la gravité de la température élevée et de revendiquer sa réduction à un minimum de 1,5 degré Celsius convenu par les États parties.
